PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT 1

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the business side of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Industry? Sign up for CE 98: Professional Development Certification I, and learn what it truly takes to land an internship or a job!

The objective of this course is to introduce the students to professional aspects of CEE and to help students develop personal, communication, teambuilding, planning and leadership skills that are valued by the CEE industry. This course is the first component of the two-part decal requirement for the CEE Professional Development Certification Program. Upon completion of the program requirements, the student will receive a certificate indicating an effort was made towards becoming a leader in today's society.

The seminar will take place on Wednesdays from 6-7pm, and will be lead by Cal graduates who will provide valuable advice on how to jumpstart your career! To sign up for the course, attend the first day of class and we will give you a CCN. Also, please fill out this form to get your name on the list and get food during the first meeting, which will occur on Wednesday, September 15th, at 6pm in 534 Davis. Interested in research? Curious how you can get involved? Come to Davis 406 on Tuesday, April 27th, 5PM for the Student Research Presentations & Workshop! Come hear about the research students are working on and how and why they got involved. This great opportunity to gain insight in how to obtain research positions and learn how we are advancing current knowledge on various topics.

Stop by the ASCE office with tests from this semester or previous semesters and get CANDY! We'll happily take tests from any CE or related classes, with the student's answers, official answers, or no answers. Help us out and get free candy! The objective of this course is to introduce the students to professional aspects of CEE and to help students develop personal, communication, teambuilding, planning and leadership skills that are valued by the CEE industry. This course is also a part of the CEE Professional Development Certification Program

The course will be led by seasoned lecturers from industry and government who will provide valuable presentations based on real life experiences that will help you jumpstart your career!
