Christopher J. Edwards Memorial Scholarship Undergraduates pursuing degrees in Civil & Environmental Engineering with an emphasis on solutions for a healthy environment will be eligible for the annual Christopher J. Edwards Memorial Scholarship in Engineering amount to $1000. The fund is created by the family and friends of College of Engineering alumnus Christopher J. Edwards, and is dedicated to his memory and his contributions to the construction industry during his extensive thirty-five year career. The Beaver Heavy Construction Scholarship |

 | The Beaver Heavy Construction Scholarship The Beaver Heavy Construction Scholarship was established by Richard E. Hall and the trustees of the Beavers Charitable Trust. The scholarship will be award on the basis of interest in the heavy construction industry as well as merit.
We are now accepting applications from our undergraduate students who meet the following qualifications:
1. United States Citizen 2. An upperclassman (junior or senior) majoring in civil engineering 3. A student with a professional goal of achieving a career in the heavy construction industry | To be considered, students should submit a 1-2 page type written essay that addresses:
1. Your intention of pursuing such a career, or 2. Details part-time or summer employment in the heavy construction industry, or 3. Details enrollment in related curriculum, or 4. States the applicant's reasons for choosing a career in the heavy construction industry.
Essays (and a copy of your unofficial transcript) should be submitted no later than noon on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 to Joan Chamberlain, Undergraduate Advisor, 750 Davis Hall |

Reid Zimmerman, an ASCE member and graduating Senior (December "09), was the recipient of the Christopher J. Edwards Memorial Scholarship annual award. The Edwards family made the selection based on Reid's outstanding experience and activities which include fostering the improvement of sustainable building methods and materials for the future.
