JFC Career Fair Spring 2012

This year, the Career Fair Registration Package includes:

· 2 representatives from your company, preferably an engineer and a human resources representative (there will be a $50 fee for each additional representative that includes the student-industry networking social)

· 1 reserved parking space

· 1 6’ by 2.5’ table and 2 chairs

· 1 Spring 2012 resume book on a CD

· Company description in program

· Student-industry networking social after the career fair

· Wi-Fi Guest Account and Password

 

Event Schedule

 

Date:           Wednesday, February 29, 2012

Venue:        Pauley Ballroom at the Martin Luther King, Junior Student Union on the 

                   UC Berkeley Campus, Closest to Bancroft Avenue and Telegraph Avenue

Agenda:     

1-3 pm: Company Check-In and Set-Up followed by a Pre-Meeting with all                         representatives

                   3-6 pm: Career Fair

                   6-7 pm: Reception

Parking

For directions to the UC Berkeley campus, please visit http://visitors.berkeley.edu/gethere/traveling.shtml.

You will be able to park anytime from 12pm until 8pm on Wednesday. The parking lot is called "MLK Student Union Garage Lot" and is located on Bancroft Avenue, slightly west of Telegraph Avenue: http://pt.berkeley.edu/park/public/campus.

There is only one reserved parking space for each company. Parking permits will be distributed by a parking attendant at the parking lot. Otherwise, street parking is available or spots in other parking garages can be found through the link above. 

Company Check-In

Company check-in will take place between 1-3 pm.

Upon check-in, your company representatives will receive an envelope containing an event program and directory, resume CD, and names tags. They will be escorted to an assigned 6’ by 2.5’ table, which will have 2 chairs behind it. Electrical outlets will be available to companies upon request prior to the career fair.

During check-in, we will provide representatives with light refreshments. There are also many restaurants and eateries in the Telegraph Avenue and Bancroft Avenue area where you can eat lunch, if desired. 

Shipping Materials

Your company is welcome to ship materials to us to hold until the day of the event but is required to pay for return shipping if you choose not to take your materials with you after the event.

Reception

After the career fair, there will be a reception with hors d’oeuvres. We encourage companies to attend the reception as it would be another opportunity for representatives to interact with students.

This will be a joint meeting with ITE with the speaker Danielle Elkins who specializes in transportation. Come by to learn more about this exciting field as well as get some delicious food!

Clark began in 1906 as a small excavating company. Today it has spread to be the 9th largest general contractor with 5 regional offices in the USA, and with 3,900 employees. Clark values its employee’s integrity and strong sense of ethics and it approaches each project with a cooperative mindset. It oversees a wide range of projects from small interior renovations to huge architectural landmarks. Because Clark values bringing its employees together, the company sponsors training programs and outings like golf and fishing trips to share ideas and enrich the company. Malcolm Drilling Company, Inc. (MDCI) has for decades been an innovator and leader in the deep foundation industry. Its list of core services include drilled shafts, micropiles, auger cast piles, excavation support systems, cutoff and secant pile walls, slope stabilization, jet grouting, deep soil mixing, underpinning, dewatering, and Omega displacement piles. Its experience facilitates a Design/Build approach to projects, and allows for timely collaboration with owners and contractors.  Malcolm Drilling has also expanded into the Pacific and South America with Malcolm Drilling Pacific and Malcolm Drilling International.
