Welcome to the UC Berkeley Construction Team Web Site

What do we do? Well, first off, we don’t actually build anything, we are solely in charge of the construction management and architectural design aspects of a project.

Where do we show off our skills that we learn through a weekly decal class (Tuesdays 6-7 PM)? We participate in the Associated Schools of Construction's competition for Region 6 and 7 in Sparks, NV. We originally only participated in the LEED category; however, last year we expanded our knowledge and also entered the Design/Build, Determining Project Risk and Graduate Problem Statements.

Now for details on the competition: Each school sends groups of 4 or 6 students compete in different problem statements. Students are given a real-life construction management situation and have one day to solve it and create a report for the judges to look over. The next day, the students give a presentation over their findings in front of the judges and an audience. For more information about the competitions and official rules, see: www.asc67.org.

If you are interested in learning more about the competition or joining one of the teams feel free to contact, Elizabeth Kincaid, the competition team PM at construction@calasce.org
