Granite Construction Competition
2008 Granite Construction Company Collegiate Challenge Invitations to compete in a series of construction challenges at Granite’s Sacramento, California office has been extended to ten schools in Northern California, including UC Berkeley. Schools that accept our invitation will field an 11-person team, including one participating professor. Managers from Granite’s Northern California Operating Group will provide coaching and oversight.
Teams will be comprised of six sophomores and juniors with no more than four seniors. Teams must be comprised of students from Civil Engineering and Construction Management programs. Each team will also be required to have one professor as a participating member. Each team will have 11 members (10 students/1 faculty).
The competition will take place on October 24-26, 2008.

2008 UC Berkeley ASCE/Chi Epsilon Civil Engineering Career Fair
It's that time again! UC Berkeley student chapters of ASCE and XE are putting on their annual Spring Career Fair. Employers will be on campus to discuss opportunities within the Civil & Environmental Engineering field.
The Spring Career Fair will be held on on Wednesday, February 13 from 4 to 7 pm at the Pauley Ballroom
Students: -Sign up for the Career Fair in the ASCE office on the 3rd floor of Davis Hall until February 12th. -Pick up a Registration form in the ASCE office and turn your payment along with the slip in to any ASCE officer present. -Dinner will be $10, which you can pay for while signing up. Dinner this year is optional, but there is limited seating, so it will be given on a first come basis.

Construction Institute Scholarship

Construction Institute Scholarship The San Francisco section chapter of the construction institute will be awarding scholarships for 2008. There will be one scholarship award at $2000, two at $1500, and four at $1000 each. Qualification and selection criteria are as follows: - Enrollment in a civil engineering / construction program as a Jr. of Sr. - Attendance at the local CI dinner is desirable Membership in good standing at ASCE student chapter - Endorsement of the respective financial aid office - A one page essay competition – Topic: “My Future in Construction”
The deadline to submit your package is February 28, 2008. Scholarships will be awarded around March 18, 2008 at the CI Dinner program. Submittals must be emailed to both email addresses listed below:
